How to Remove Dirt Stains From Vehicle Floor Mats

Things You’ll Need:

• Clean towel
• Butterknife
• Carpet cleaner spray
• Scrub brush
• Bucket
• Warm water
• Vacuum
• Waterhose

Step1

Remove the floor mats from the vehicle and place them on the ground. Use a butter knife to loosen up dirt and debris. Vacuum each floor mat thoroughly. Spray carpet cleaner over the entire floor mat. Let it soak for about 5 minutes.

Step2

Fill a bucket with warm water and place it near the floor mats for easy access. Dip a scrub brush into the water. Scrub the floor mats with the brush in a circular motion. Use as little water as possible and be sure to wet the brush several times during cleaning. Your scrubbing and the water will help the cleaing solution remove the stains.

Step3

Rinse the floor mats of any remaining cleaing solution. Use a hose on a low spray setting. Spray the floor mats very lightly. Take a clean towel and press out as much water as you can. Let the mats air-dry overnight. Only then can you use a fan or blowdryer to speed up the drying process. Be careful: the heat from a blowdryer can damage your floor mats.
